Position Summary
The Countertop Installer Helper is responsible for the professional and precise installation of granite, quartz, solid surface, and other countertop materials in unoccupied homes, apartments, and commercial settings. This role ensures that each installation is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Primera’s quality service standards. The Countertop Installer Helper represents Primera on various job sites and plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Load, transport, and unload countertop materials and tools to job sites safely and securely.
- Review installation work orders, blueprints, and templates to verify measurements and materials.
- Install countertops, backsplashes, and sinks in accordance with design specifications and builder requirements.
- Perform on-site adjustments including trimming, leveling, polishing, and seam alignments as needed.
- Ensure installations are structurally sound and visually flawless prior to quality assurance (QA) completion.
- Communicate professionally with builders, homeowners, and site supervisors regarding project details or issues.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Follow all safety guidelines and report potential hazards or incidents promptly.
- Support the team’s success and efficiency by completing minor repairs as needed.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license and clean MVR required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
- OSHA 10 certification required
- Reliable transportation required
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and accuracy required
- Ability to be dependable, safety conscious, and a team player required
- 2 + years of experience in countertop installation or a related construction trade strongly preferred
- Ability to skillfully handle and install granite, quartz, and solid surface materials strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of field measurements, leveling, and seam alignment strongly preferred
Work Environment
This role requires frequent travel to builder and commercial job sites as well as apartment complexes. With exposure to construction environments, dust, noise, and various weather conditions are common.
Physical Requirements
This position involves lifting heavy materials and slabs (up to 100 pounds with assistance), bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time. PPE and adherence to all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of lifting equipment, is required.
