About the role

Purpose

The Pharmacy Supervisor will be recorded as the “responsible manager” in accordance with Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission. The Pharmacy Supervisor will be responsible for supervision of day–to-day operational activities of the assigned pharmacy site and also fill-in as needed at all pharmacy locations and services.  Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the pharmacy and ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained. This position provides management and supervision to designated support staff members. Also works in partnership and joint accountability with other team members to achieve Neighborcare’s Mission, Guiding Principles and goals.

Compensation:  

  • The target wage range salary this position is $120,369.60 to $154,918.40 
  • Final offers are individually based on various factors, including skill set, years of experience, location, qualifications, work schedule and other job-related reasons

Primary Responsibilities:

Supervision

  • Oversees all aspects of pharmacy staffing, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, and daily supervision to ensure efficient and compliant pharmacy operations.
  • Responsible for handling and reporting in the resolution of patient complaints, billing issues and other administrative issues associated with the pharmacy.
  • Responsible for oversight and management of day-to-day operations, including monitoring and evaluating daily finances, operational performance and initiating corrective actions to maintain high standards of care and operational efficiency.
  • Ensures payment processing and the proper recording of financial records/transaction are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Assist in pharmacy interviews and recruitment events.
  • Assist in the standardization of pharmacy practice amongst Neighborcare Health’s pharmacies.
  • Provide supervision of and/or training for students assigned to Neighborcare Health as part of their professional education.
  • Coordinates pharmacy services with requirements of insurers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensures pharmacy complies with all laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy in accordance with Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission.
  • Ensures compliance with HRSA 340B regulations for inventory and dispensing practices.

Inventory Management

  • Oversees inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Ensures payment processing and proper recording of financial records/transactions are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assures inventory and dispensing practices are in compliance with HRSA 340B regulations.
  • Maintains procedures and records for quality assurance, formulary compliance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs and devices.
  • Annual inventory of all medications in stock in the pharmacy.
  • Reviews and approves invoices and statements as appropriate.

Clinical Practice

  • Participate in the development and implementation of Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreements approved within Neighborcare.
  • Provide clinical and technical expertise to interdisciplinary teams across Neighborcare, supporting the integration of pharmacy services into patient care workflows.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Pharmacy Director, contributing to the overall success of pharmacy clinical services.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities contained in the pharmacist job description.
  • Support Quality Improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for enhanced medication use, safety, and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through continuing education, peer collaboration, and regular review of pharmacy-related literature.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD degree
  • Active Washington state Dept. of Health Pharmac
