Maintenance Handyman

Arbors Management is looking to add an experienced Maintenance Handyman at a Senior & Disabled independent living building located in the Green Tree area of Pittsburgh, PA.  This full-time position will allow you to use your skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall and grounds-keeping.  If you enjoy performing a different task everyday and work well with people, then we encourage you to apply!

Pay for the Maintenance Handyman is $23-$25 per hour based on experience.  Typical hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  This position will require on-call time for after hours emergencies.

As the Maintenance Handyman, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing physical and visible inspection of property grounds including outside areas, indoor commons areas and individual apartment units
• Communicating with tenants regarding needed repairs
• Performing needed repairs which will consist of the following:
  • Electrical repair (switches, outlets, fixtures, etc.)
  • Plumbing repair (leaks, fixture changes, drain clogs, etc.)
  • Painting
  • Drywall repair
  • HVAC - minor troubleshooting, system changes (no cert. required)
  • Cleaning including trash compactor, floors, restrooms and other public areas
  • Grounds-keeping including grass cutting and snow removal
• Managing supply inventory and organization of the Maintenance Shop
• Completing work orders for all repairs
• Working with the property manager for work instructions 
• Handling emergency calls after hours as needed (rotates with other staff)

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent 
• 3+ years experience working in a building maintenance position
• Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, stoop, crawl and/or climb for the duration of an 8-hour shift
• Ability to perform work in all skill areas listed above 
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to use a computer
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background screen
• Must have valid drivers license and personal vehicle
