Join the Corporate Development team at Chase which is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships across Chase’s consumer lines of business – Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. These partnerships are critical to Chase’s ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. Digital Partnerships team – The Digital Partnerships team is responsible for digital payments and lending partnerships for Chase’s consumer businesses. The team has three primary functions: 1) determine the partnership strategies for large tech platforms and fintechs, 2) evaluate, negotiate and execute payments and lending partnerships, and 3) manage ongoing relationships with large tech platforms externally and firmwide. 

As the Associate, you will be a key member of a high performance team, working across both our large tech and fintech partnerships for the bank, with a focus on payments and lending. You should be comfortable working on a strategic analysis as they are supporting a commercial deal, and understand how to lead through influence across a large, multifaceted organization, and can support deal execution and negotiations.

 You as the Associate will play a key role in helping the Digital Partnerships team to support Chase’s senior most executive leaders to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and determine what partnerships will deliver value for Chase’s customers. You as the ideal candidates will have outstanding analytic skills, are a capable project manager, can build strong relationships, and have a passion for consumer financial services.

Job responsibilities:  

• Support the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic payments and lending partnerships with large tech platforms and fintech players
• Collaboratively develop our partnership strategy with the lines of business, including identifying key elements of the strategy, analysis of the competitive landscape, leading diligence, and making recommendations
• Develop and help deliver specific partner proposals with the lines of business, including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integration
• Work with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop business cases, deal constructs and other key terms associated with partnerships
• Monitor external environment for important competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and share perspectives with key line of business partners
• Ensure all deals are executed in accordance with policies, controls and Corporate Development procedures

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 

• 2+ years industry experience, preferably across digital, banking, financial services and/or payments
• BS degree or equivalent experience required
• High degree of curiosity and interest in fintech and large tech innovation in financial services
• Thrives as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross functional environment
• Outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, with strong project management ability 
• Able to build relationships inside and outside the company
• Fast learner who is able to work seamlessly across a large cross-functional organization

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Management consulting, investment banking, or PE/VC experience a plus
