VV&T Systems Engineer

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required

Position

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is the U.S. Government agency in charge of designing, building, launching, and maintaining America’s intelligence satellites.

The VV&T team is responsible for providing technical support for the planning and execution of enterprise and system-level verification, validation and transition activities for national assets, associated with ground segments and services and information processing systems within the enterprise.  It provides test support of delivered capabilities and mission closure, oversight of milestone test readiness events.  

Apogee's ideal VV&T Systems Engineer candidate will provide Verification, Validation and Transition systems engineering and technical support services to enable efficient and effective, mission success. The candidate will guide engineering teams in taking a multi-discipline approach to requirements, solutions, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test & evaluation, maintainability, and analysis across the NRO enterprise and mission partners.  If you live and breathe GEOINT, SIGINT or COMM then you'll love Apogee and this position!

What You'll Do

• Strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of the end-to-end mission
  
• Plan, execute enterprise & system-level verification, validation, and transition activities for national assets 
• Provide oversight of milestone test readiness events
• Test delivered capabilities associated with ground, services, and information processing segments to achieve mission closure 
• Apply test plans & strategies
  
• Support Requests for Change (RFCs), checklists, RVTMs, briefings for new and modified mission capabilities
  
• Generate metrics, schedule  and risk assessments, discrepancy, engineering briefings and lessons learned products
• Interface with mission partners and operational sites
• Coordinate with Acquisition Offices (AOs) to facilitate risk and action closure
• Support technical consultation, meeting coordination, and recommendation briefings

Required

• 10-14 years experience with space/ground systems and systems engineering
• BS in STEM degree
• Verification, Validation and Transition (VV&T) experience within overall customer domain
• Experience writing test strategies and plans, executing tests, analyzing data and summarizing results   
• Experience in system integration and transition approaches to accommodate the End to End GEOINT and/or SIGINT life-cycle
• Ability to relate professionally inside the work environment
• Proven communication skills
• Highly organized and adaptable
  
• Commitment operate professionally and effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority
