Description
Prevailance is seeking an experienced, mission-focused professional to support Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) as a Waterborne Security Boat Instructor Course Supervisor. This is a High-Risk instructor position that shall perform classroom and operational instruction. Travel may be required.
Requirements
- Instructor Certification:
- Navy Instructor (9502) or equivalent.
- Operational Security Boat Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years documented operational experience in security boat roles, such as:
- Navy Harbor Security Maritime Detachment
- USMC Small Craft Company
- U.S. Navy Coastal Riverine Forces (CRF) Detachment
- U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC)
- USCG Shore-Based Boat Units or Maritime Patrol Forces, including:
- Fast Response Cutters (FRC)
- Patrol Boats (WPB)
- Coastal Patrol Boats (CPB)
- USCG Deployable Specialized Forces (DSF), such as:
- Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT)
- Maritime Safety & Security Team (MSST)
- Port Security Unit (PSU)
- Minimum of 3 years documented operational experience in security boat roles, such as:
- Instructional Skills:
- Proficiency in planning and delivering instruction on security boat tactics, techniques, and procedures in classroom and underway training settings.
- Expertise in Safety/Operational Risk Management, classroom teaching fundamentals, training plans, and scenario scripting.
- Tactical and Leadership Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years documented experience in a maritime environment, with skills in operating and maintaining Navy Force Protection boats.
- Proficient in:
- Coxswain Skills:
- Craft launch and recovery
- Maneuvering in open and confined waters
- High-speed tactical maneuvering
- Towing operations in varied environments
- Maritime Navigation:
- Strong understanding of maritime aids to navigation, rules of the road, plotting, and chart reading.
- Skilled in dead reckoning, coastal piloting, and night navigation.
- Coxswain Skills:
- Small Boat Operations Expertise:
- Comprehensive knowledge of small boat tactical operations, including:
- Boat team organization and operational preparation
- Day/night patrols
- Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO)
- Escort and live fire operations
- Application of ORM processes for risk assessment
- Comprehensive knowledge of small boat tactical operations, including:
- Craft System and Subsystem Proficiency:
- Skilled in operating and maintaining craft navigation systems and communication equipment for both water jet and propeller-driven boats.
- Logistics and Movement:
- Experience in the logistical movement of small craft, including preparation for road transit and hoisting operations.
- Tactical Operations Planning:
- Proficient in tactical operations planning, including military decision-making, patrol coordination, concept of operations development, and mission debriefing.
- Swimming Qualification:
- Able to qualify as a Second Class Swimmer per NETC P1552/16 standards.
- Vision Requirements:
- Must have normal color vision (FALANT color vision test) and no night blindness.
- Security Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
