The Position

Field Applications Specialist - East Florida - Clinical Chemistry Diagnostics

This position is a 36 month fixed-term full time position. You will receive healthcare benefits, PTO, 401k, holidays and sick time.

The Opportunity:

As a Field Applications Specialist - East Florida, you'll play a pivotal role in providing top-notch support and expertise for Roche's clinical chemistry product lines. Based in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area, you'll have the chance to travel throughout the Orlando, Miami and Jacksonville regions, showcasing your skills and clinical expertise to our laboratory customers. This position entails approximately up to 50% travel, including overnight travel, depending on business need.  This opportunity requires the Field Applications Specialist to reside in the Miami - Fort Lauderdale area.

  • You act as an advisor on customer issues, driving efficiencies and optimization for both the customer and Roche through independent analysis and problem-solving.

  • You're responsible for increasing sales revenue by implementing new system consumables for clients, such as reagents, primary antibodies, bio-markers, and software.

  • With advanced and specialized knowledge in a particular area, system, or equipment related to technologically advanced instruments and scientific applications, you require specific training and certification.

  • You utilize independent judgment and discretion in analyzing customer needs and solving problems that arise during and after the implementation process.

  • You may adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to meet the complex requirements of the position.

  • Independently, you analyze and resolve most customer questions and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher levels.

  • You take on project management responsibilities and conduct business process reviews.

  • Serving as a subject matter expert, you engage with customers to provide specialized insights.

  • You perform these job duties remotely and independently.

  • You actively participate in marketing or product development initiatives.

  • You're responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system, achieving quality objectives through your daily actions.

This is a field based role - the territory is East Florida - Orlando-Miami-Jacksonville and surrounding areas. 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Cell Biology or Biochemistry, or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, and/or relevant experience

  • 3 years of previous experience in a clinical laboratory  or IT in a clinical lab environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Residency in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight stays, as required.

  • Ability to quickly grasp Roche solutions and stay updated on industry trends.

  • Strong communication skills and project management experience.

  • Proven ability to provide expert guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior staff.

  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a field-based role.
