Salary: $49,866 - $92,810   According to the Teachers Work Agreement

Supervisor of Position: Jamie Studnicka, Principal

Qualifications:  Valid Minnesota teaching license, Bachelor's Degree in education or related field, and a minimum of 5 years teaching experience required; Master's Degree and K-12 Principal licensure (or currently enrolled in program) preferred.

Summary of Duties:

Under the direction of the Principal, the Administrative Intern is responsible for providing support and assistance to the Principal, fostering a positive working and learning environment, enhancing school safety and disciplinary standards, improving student attendance, coordinating local and state assessments, and providing general administrative support.

  • Fosters an environment where teachers, support staff, and parents work cooperatively and hold each other accountable to improve academic and social & emotional outcomes
    • Promotes a positive, caring climate for learning.
    • Partners with families to foster positive home-school relationships and family involvement
    • Analyzes school-wide data to determine strengths and needs related to school climate and effective behavior and classroom management strategies
  • Coordinates and implements school safety and disciplinary policies and procedures within the building
    • Provides coaching, support, and professional learning to teachers and support staff in effective behavior and classroom management strategies
    • Communicates with students, teachers, support staff, and parents concerning disciplinary concerns, incidents, and actions.
    • Completes disciplinary reports and state reporting
    • Makes decisions concerning student consequences
    • Follows up and performs student monitoring
    • Coordinates lock down, fire, and severe weather drills
    • Updates safety procedure maps, directions, and safety procedures manual
    • Develops and coordinates bus supervision schedules
  • Monitors and tracks student attendance
    • Identifies and tracks students with poor attendance
    • Conducts parent and teacher meetings to discuss attendance concerns and actions
    • Prepares attendance letters and makes County referrals concerning educational neglect
  • Serves as the elementary assessment coordinator by planning, coordinating and scheduling local and state testing protocols and procedures. Trains building personnel in testing processes, schedules, security and other testing issues
  • Provides administrative support under the direction of the Principal
    • Coordinates school programs and activities
    • Serves as the administrative designee at building level special education meetings . Attends meetings, answers questions, seeks clarification of issues raised during meeting(s) and agrees to IEP plans
    • Serves as the administrative designee when the Principal is absent
  • Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required
    • Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, and technologies within the field
    • Participates in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment
