Position Description:

The Detail Manager will lead and directly supervise the Detail Department. This position will be essential in developing, motivating, and guiding this team to achieve departmental goals and maintain high standards. This role develops business through customers and other sources to assure an adequate sales volume. Provides a reasonable department operating profit and maintains customer satisfaction standards while controlling expenses.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the Detail Department team. 
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Issue disciplinary actions to address and correct behaviors that violate established policies.
  • Mange teams time and attendance and submit to payroll department bi-weekly.
  • Manage time-off requests.
  • Oversees personnel, production machines, and equipment.
  • Oversees the setup and use of tools and equipment before production use to ensure the optimum level of safety.
  • Helps develop procedures to ensure production efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Follow all internal company policies and procedures.
  • Managing inventory and reordering supplies for detail department.
  • Ensures a safe, organized, and clean work environment is maintained.
  • Creates a functioning schedule for department – emphasizing quality and efficiency.
  • Informs management of employees who are not performing to our standards of performance or conduct.
  • Ensure Detail department is properly opened/closed daily.
  • Trains new employees on standards, processes, and procedures. 
  • Constantly evaluate staff to rate their performance.
  • Assists to ensure work is completed properly and efficiently.
  • Delegates work to employees.
  • Supervise and control quality of work produced and work efficiency.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned by Management.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automotive detailing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

· Proven track record of managing a team of detailers in a high-volume environment

· Experience with various detailing techniques, including paint correction, ceramic coatings, and interior restoration

· Familiarity with dealership operations and the role of detailing in the sales process
