Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller in maintaining the financial health of the organization. This role focuses on reconciling account balances, analyzing bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and executing month-end close activities in accordance with company standards. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting overall financial operations.

Primary Objective:
To ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records by performing detailed reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting timely and accurate month-end close processes, while providing financial insights that drive operational efficiency and support strategic decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:
General Ledger Maintenance:
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, prepare and analyze financial statements, and support month-end and year-end close to ensure accurate transactions, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Month-End and Year-End Closing:
Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and other adjustments while reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions. The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with GAAP and company policies, works with management to meet closing deadlines, and supports accurate, timely financial operations.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate financial reports and dashboards, conducting variance and trend analysis, and providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, maintains accurate financial records, and recommends process improvements to enhance financial planning, control, and overall efficiency. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Accounts Receivable Management:
Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and credit card transactions accurately while supporting customer invoices, collections, and account reconciliations to maintain accurate balances and resolve discrepancies, ensuring financial accuracy through collaboration with vendors and internal teams.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Track and categorize business expenses to ensure alignment with budgets and financial guidelines, while analyzing spending trends to identify cost-saving opportunities. Assist with forecasting and budget preparation, providing financial insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Audit Support and Internal Controls:
Support internal and external audits by preparing financial documentation and responding to inquiries, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Assist in developing and enforcing internal controls to prevent fraud, strengthen financial integrity, and uphold company policies and industry regulations.

Compliance and Tax Filings:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including parking and occupancy taxes, while assisting with sales, use, and payroll tax filings and maintaining accurate records for audits. This role requires knowledge of GAAP, PCI compliance, tax laws, and industry regulations related to parking operations and municipal contracts.

Cost Control and Expense Management:
Monitor operating expenses, track spending, and identify cost-saving opportunities for facility maintenance, technology, and labor. Collaborate with facility managers and vendors to manage costs, negotiate contracts, and recommend strategies to improve financial efficiency while maintaining service quality.

Additional Responsibilities:
Other tasks may be assigned as needed to support the company’s overall operational and financial objectives, with the expectation that the management remains flexible and responsive to evolving business needs. Attend required staff meetings and complete assigned training modules in a timely manner. Including but not limited to the ability to work flexible hours when needed, particularly during financial close periods and occasional travel for financial reviews, audits, or corporate meetings. May be required.
