Our Internships
We are looking for passionate and motivated students who are interested in pursuing a career in media to join our team! This program is a paid, ten week summer internship from June to August 2026.
Our internships offer the opportunity to connect and collaborate across the FT — in the US and globally. You’ll develop ideas that help drive our growth, present your work to US leadership, and gain valuable insights from across the business. Plus, you’ll be paired with a dedicated Buddy to provide mentorship and support throughout your experience.
We’ve embraced a 50% hybrid working model (averaging two to three days onsite) that fosters trust and adaptability while encouraging in-person camaraderie and peer learning.

Role Overview
The FT’s US Editorial Summer Internship offers aspiring journalists a front-row seat to the fast-paced world of global news. This is your chance to learn from — and contribute to — a dynamic multimedia newsroom that values curiosity, creativity, and sharp storytelling.
No two days are the same. From breaking stories and in-depth research to innovative digital projects, you’ll work alongside editors and reporters to bring ambitious journalism to life. We’re looking for versatile, driven interns who are eager to dig into stories that matter and help shape how the world understands the news.
Key responsibilities
- Pitching, reporting, and writing original news stories
- Conducting interviews and developing sources
- Assisting senior correspondents with research and reporting
- Curating newsletters and contributing to digital projects
- Collaborating with staffers on special projects
- Carrying out background research and document analysis
Required skills / experience
- Proven interest in journalism
- Some experience or knowledge of financial journalism, business, economics, or related areas
- Curiosity about global markets, companies, and economies
- Initiative to pitch and complete story ideas
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Strong communication and writing skills across platforms
- Sound news judgment and high ethical standards

About the Internship
- The internship will be full time from June 1st 2026 - Aug 7th 2026. Before applying, please ensure you will be available on these dates.
- This is a hybrid internship, meaning you are required to work from our New York office at least 2-3 days per week, the rest of the week can be from home.
- This is being advertised in partnership with the Dow Jones News Fund, a weeklong, all-expenses-paid training program that our intern will take part in before starting in our newsroom. The intern we select should be present for training from May 22nd, 2026 to May 30th, 2026.
