Perficient has a career opportunity for a Lead Epic Data Analyst to join our Data and Analytics Business Unit for Dallas, TX location.
Job Overview:
As a Lead Technical Consultant you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our clients. As a member working in a team environment you will work with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design.

- Lead the design and development of analytic reports using Epic data, claims, and other sources, while also mentoring other analysts.
- Analyze data from Epic Clarity and Caboodle databases using SQL.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and IT teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Knowledge on dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support strategic initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (like HIPAA, HITECH).
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to best practices in Epic data analytics.
- Participate in Epic upgrade cycles, testing, and validation of data workflows.
- Act as a business expert on Epic applications, workflows, and reporting systems.
- Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from the Epic database.
- Build source to target mappings that documents how the data should move from the source system to the new target data model.
- Knowledge about different data modeling (Canonical/Dimensional) concepts to understand the relationship.
- Lead and manage data-related projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- Maintain regular client communication and satisfaction, ensuring opportunities and challenges are addressed in a timely manner.
- Support the development team and ensure a full understanding of the source to target mappings.
- Help to establish critical path, milestones, delivery dates, and review client deliverables to ensure they meet client acceptance criteria.
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level.
- 5+ years of experience working with Epic Systems in a healthcare environment.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
- Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical terminology, and EHR systems.
- Experience working in modern cloud tech stacks like Azure/AWS/Snowflake/Databricks.
- Configure and customize Epic applications to meet specific departmental and clinical needs. Assist with data conversion, migration, and validation during Epic implementation projects.
- Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred.
- Proficient in leveraging AI technologies to drive innovation, support strategic initiatives, and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Possesses a strong understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations.
- Flexible and adaptable attitude, disciplined to manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to varied environments.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment using agile methodologies.
- Proficient in authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.
Desired skills:
- Epic certification in Clarity and/or Caboodle (preferred).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience in healthcare domain.
