About the role

Reports To:  Assembly Supervisor

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt


Position Summary: 

The Assembler is responsible for following the instructions and schedules given to him by the assembly supervisor. This includes pulling material, assembly of product, packaging, and shipping.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Pulls parts to be assembled
  • Assembles parts per the documentation of sales orders
  • Packages parts per the documentation of sales orders
  • Loads shipments onto carriers
  • Completes paperwork according to supervisors’ instructions
  • Adheres to the safety rules of TFI
  • Uses forklifts to load and carry materials

Requirements

Education and Experience Required:

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Forklift Certification


Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, and successful completion of a forklift training program
  • Ability to identify parts needed per sales orders
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong organizational skills & Mathematical skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in TFI/OSHA Safety Requirements


Physical Requirements: Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be able to lift up-to 75 pounds 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to bend and crawl for 4+ hours per shift
  • Much be able to crouch, kneel and stoop for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to climb ladders for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken words, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
