Senior Apigee Developer - REMOTE

We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior Apigee Developer. This is a hands on role.  While our headquarters location is St. Louis, MO, this position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States and will be working ET zones. 

As a Senior APIGEE Developer, you will participate in the definition and implementation of leading API management technologies to transform enterprises into the digital economy. 

You will drive all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of applications developed for our clients. As a member in our team environment you will collaborate with other solution architects and developers on interpretation and translation of wireframes and functional requirements—leading to production quality applications and solutions for our clients.

• Lead the technical planning & requirements gathering phases including estimate, develop, test, manage projects, architect and deliver.
• Serve as a technical lead and mentor. Provide technical expertise and leadership in the development and continual improvement of Perficient Solutions.
• Responsible for the delivery of sophisticated API Management solutions.
• Develop Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions.
• Support Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities, through to continuous delivery to production.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level. 

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in developing API solutions
• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience developing APIs, proxies, swaggers, and policies development with Apigee
• Hands-on experience on Apigee Portal, Portal customization and integration with Apigee Edge using, Drupal, NodeJS, JavaScript preferred
• MUST be an Independent Investigator –if there is an incident, having the ability to dig in, investigate the issue and work on creating the solution.
• MUST understand Oauth/MFA (multi-factor authentication)/mTLS (mutual authentication) with Network Concepts
• MUST have very strong on policy creation/ Open Spec Security Standards
• Experience with Splunk and Dashboards required.
• Experience in securing APIs using Oauth, SAML, Open ID Connect and etc.
• Experience developing API architectures, implementations, integrations, and deployments
• Good knowledge of design principals and best practices of REST APIs
• Understanding of API management concepts
• Understanding of Apigee components and infrastructure deployment models
• Understanding of Microservices architecture and patterns, microgateway (preferred Apigee), Istio, docker, kubernetes fundamentals a plus
• Design and develop security policies and custom integrations with IAM Systems (like Okta, AD, Azure AD) a plus
• Experience with load balancers, firewalls, TCP, TLS, SSH, automated testing of APIs, Jenkins, CI/CD etc. concepts a plus

Preferred skills and education:

• Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred
• Mulesoft, Data Power, Boomi experience nice to have
• Apigee certifications / skill badges nice to have
• GCP, AWS, Azure Cloud experience a plus
