Software Quality Engineer Contractor (SQA)

If you're a person who enjoys taking apart complex programs and perfecting the minutia and also someone who enjoys seeing the broad view and driving multiple teams towards a common goal, we have a role for you. PlayStation is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to plan and lead the next generation of features on and off the console, engaging with a variety of teams across the entire tech stack, driving an extremely high quality bar for our products, and advocating for our customers.

Our office is located in San Francisco's vibrant SOMA district, within walking distance to outstanding restaurants, museums and nightlife.

Contract duration is 12 months with option/opportunity to extend further. Role is considered a hybrid role and would require in-office time 3-4 times per month.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize, plan, collaborate, and drive multi-team projects to market
  • Engage with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to understand new business needs and feature sets and develop comprehensive test and release plans
  • Determine and generate test data, scenarios, and requirements
  • Work closely with console developers to ensure that all features and bug fixes come with automated test coverage.
  • Track, verify, visualize, and report on program statuses and testing efforts from across teams
  • Engage in cross-team test initiatives for new and evolving features

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge
  • Extensive background in Quality Engineering methodologies and practices
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Selenium or Appium
  • Experience with at least one modern web application framework, preferably React

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
