Senior Software Engineer, Aiven Apps

Our vision is to help developers, builders, and creators bring their ideas to life with speed and simplicity, by providing a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible to everyone. </p> <h3><strong>The Role:</strong></h3> <p>We are hiring for a full-stack engineer to work on the recently launched Aiven application runtime: <a href="https://aiven.io/apps">Aiven Apps</a>, which enables users to build complete solutions in Aiven that encompass data and application runtime.</p> <p>We are looking for product-minded engineers who have a keen interest in the business and user behavior, are proactive with product development ideas and tradeoffs, and want to understand the “Why?” behind all things. As a product-minded engineer you communicate well with engineers and non-engineers alike and are interested in how other functions work.</p> <p>As we are looking for a senior engineer, we expect you to raise the bar for the team through technical mentorship. We’d love you to show us how we can improve what we do. Our teams are proud of what we build and value curiosity, healthy debate, and exchange of ideas. </p> <h3><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></h3> <p>Here are some example areas you may work on:</p> <ul> <li>Iterating on the Console UX for creating and managing applications</li> <li>Designing and implementing new RESTful APIs or extending existing ones.</li> <li>Owning the end-to-end implementation and maintenance of new features</li> <li>Making sure our technical foundation stays in shape by highlighting needed technical improvements.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></h3> <p>Our frontend is built with TypeScript, React and Redux, and our backend centers on Python and PostgreSQL. As such, to succeed in the role you have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience leading the planning and implementation of an end-to-end feature</li> <li>Proficiency in TypeScript and experience in Python.
