Summer Camp Lifeguard
Allentown, PA | Part Time, Seasonal, Hourly | May-August Camp Season | $13.50 - $18.50 per hour

What is needed for this job as our Summer Camp Lifeguard:
- 16+ years of age
- Lifeguard Certification
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen, ARC Lifeguard or equivalent (training provided)
- Ability to maintain a level of physical and mental readiness consistently over the entire guard shift
- Diligence in responding to safety and emergency situations
- Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful
The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Summer Camp Lifeguard:
- Maintains active surveillance of the pool area
- Knows/reviews all safety and emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures
- Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, and other staff
- Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code
- Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed reporting any concerns to the Aquatics Director
- Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action
