Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an EHS Contractor Management Leader. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape EH&S strategies, implement best practices, and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Also, you will fostering a culture of continuous improvement in EH&S within the engineering department and Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including Contractors Project and Safety Managers and Supervisors, to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Also, you will:

  • Be part of a Global EHS team
  • Monitor emerging EH&S legislation in countries where we operate, assess its impact, and facilitate timely compliance with engineering and asset requirements.
  • Advise, standardize, supervise, and plan preventive actions, incorporating all environment, health, and safety-related aspects into engineering projects.
  • Drive EH&S audit guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards.
  • Establish and maintain active EHS Committees for ongoing projects within our areas of influence, ensuring effective management by local leadership.
  • Ensures the implementation, administration and reporting of the results of EH&S management programs in the engineering organization.
  • Participates in scoping activities to ensure that the defined equipment complies with local legislative requirements and OI EHS defined rules.
  • Will lead projects to ensure that the local EHS representative assigned to the project construction is actively leading EHS activities in accordance with OI EHS expectations.
  • Ensure the measurement, audit, and evaluation of the effectiveness of risk controls and risk control programs to ensure compliance with OI standards during OI engineering construction.
  • Identify and assess all potential safety risks with the execution safety supervisor on each project.
  • Verify that all safety equipment to be purchased on each engineering project complies with the country's legal standards and OI's corporate EHS management system.
  • Train and mentor the regional engineering organization to incorporate safety methodologies on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure the connection between supply chain and engineering to ensure the best total cost for the required environmental and safety equipment.

We support flexible working, and as such this role can work remotely in any location we have facility in US.

 

Travel requirements:

  • 50% Domestic and International Travel

Qualifications

About You:

  • You love glass and care about sustainability and the planet.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Specialization in Safety, Environment and Occupational Health
  • 6+ years of experience working in EHS functions
  • You have good knowledge of OSHA, ISO 45,001 or similar occupational health and safety consulting services.
  • You are familiar with performing general engineering and construction projects, also familiar with local occupational health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • You have good experience in managing contractors.
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Strong communication skills in English - Additional languages are very welcome
  • You are a good communicator with great ability to be proactive and show initiative.
  • Good team player

Additional Information

What we offer:

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $$93,000 - $116,200 USD + 10% of annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
