Job Description:
Graduate Recovery Chaplain
Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center (BARC)
(Graduate Apprenticeship, 20 hours/week)

PURPOSE:
The BARC Chaplain will further the goals and vision of Spiritual Life and the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center by providing support to students in Recovery across Baylor’s campus.

STRUCTURE
•   Division: Student Life
•   Department: Student Care and Well-being & Pastoral Care/Spiritual Life
•   Reports to: Assistant Director for Collegiate Recovery and Assistant Director of Pastoral Care

The Graduate Recovery Chaplain, under this joint supervision, will be positioned for ministry in the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center, functioning on their staff as a pastoral resource with a primary focus on recovery students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•   Be available to offer pastoral care and spiritual guidance to students involved in the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center   
•   Work with the Assistant Director of Collegiate Recovery and Recovery Program Manager, to assist students that are walk-ins or in crisis. 
•   Facilitate and lead a faith-based recovery group and/or Chapel for students in recovery. 
•   Attend required staff meetings with the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center and Pastoral Care.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
•   As appropriate, assist with and participate in special events and programs facilitated by Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center. 
•   Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
•   Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
•   Other Educational Requirements/Preferences: Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Truett Seminary.
•   Some background or experience in ministry with young people or young adults. 
•   Background in understanding addiction and recovery pathways, particularly spiritual development related to addiction recovery.
