Senior Agentic Platform Engineer

As a Senior Agentic Platform Engineer, you will develop intelligent solutions in which AI models and agents are integrated into our data platform. You combine data engineering know-how with AI expertise to build e.g. chatbots, autonomous assistants or generative AI applications that operate on our customers' data.

Tasks & responsibilities

You design and implement the architecture of complex Agentic AI solutions and decide on the use of suitable AI models (e.g. choice between GPT-5, other LLMs or custom models) and integrate them into the overall platform. You develop AI agents that can perform multiple steps (e.g. researching information, summarizing, triggering actions) and use patterns such as retrieval augmented generation, tool use or multi-agent systems. You ensure that the scalability and security of the AI applications is guaranteed - e.g. through containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and monitoring of the models during operation.

You implement best practices for Responsible AI: provide AI solutions with suitable guardrails (e.g. content filters, logging) and take data protection guidelines into account. You will work with customers in an advisory capacity to identify use cases for AI and translate them into technical concepts. You lead the team in error analysis and optimization of AI models (e.g. analysis of wrong decisions of agents, continuous improvement of prompt strategies).

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in software/data development, including several years in AI/ML projects

• Extensive knowledge of machine learning technologies and architecture of AI systems

• Experience with Azure AI stacks, including Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Search etc., as well as with open source frameworks (e.g. LangChain, MLflow) to implement AI solutions

• Familiar with MLOps principles (model versioning, automated training/deployment, CI/CD for ML) and software engineering best practices

• Programming professional in Python; familiar with libraries for NLP and deep learning

• Soft skills: Ability to innovate and think strategically to bring latest AI trends to the team. Leadership skills in mentoring colleagues (mentoring in the field of AI)

• Strong communication skills to help customers understand the possibilities and limitations of AI.

• Language skills: Fluent German and very good English skills
