About the role

O’Neal is seeking an experienced professional Electrical Engineer to lead the design team in our Greenville, SC home office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in the design and implementation of systems for industrial manufacturing facilities. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for driving excellence in engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Talent Development:
    • Lead and manage the electrical engineering department, including recruitment, training, and performance management of team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, promoting continuous learning and development.
    • Create and implement department goals, strategies, and initiatives aligned with the company's vision and objectives.
  • Project Execution:
    • Develop man-hour estimates and technical proposals for potential projects.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring the highest standards of design quality.
    • Manage project electrical engineering budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored engineering solutions.
    • Ensure effective coordination with other design disciplines.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Design and develop electrical systems for industrial facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and communications systems.
    • Conduct studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations for industrial power systems.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
    • Verify design quality of all electrical deliverables and promote a standard of quality within the design group.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience in a project leadership or management role within an engineering consulting firm.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in or exposure to electrical design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC).
