Position Description

Builds community awareness and partnerships resulting in Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities Donation Drives. Mentors and trains other less experienced Community Donation Coordinators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of GCNA in-kind Community Donation Drives from prospecting, sales, closing, implementation and acknowledgement. Tracks all metrics and contacts. 
  • Hands off leads to the appropriate staff person for financial support, grants, volunteers, hiring and personal contributions.
  • Meets or exceeds annual Community Donation Drive goals. Communicates weekly reporting and reviews monthly benchmarking of all goals with the Sr. Manager of Business and Donor Development. 
  • Works closely with the Manager of Donor Services in creating and analyzing community Donation Drive goals, including city-wide initiatives. Monitors goals throughout the year and affects changes as required. 
  • Manages department invoices, prepares budget and expense reports and other accounting documents.
  • Cultivates partnerships in the community for GCNA in-kind Donation Drives, with a focus on partnerships with city officials, corporations, schools, youth groups, faith communities, neighborhood associations and sports teams.  Also manages in-kind Donation Drives for GCNA from local businesses.
  • Works to coordinate, communicate, organize and execute Donation Drive activities in order to promote GCNA programs throughout the community. 
  • Works closely with GCNA’s Transportation department on scheduling trailers and attendants (as needed) for Donation Drives. Explores opportunities for volunteers at Donation Drive sites to attend trailers, or coordinates temporary staffing. 
  • Works closely with GCNA’s Marketing department to develop and continually improve Donation Drives collateral. Works with Goodwill International and other Goodwill locations nationally in order to learn Donation Drive best practices and collateral ideas. 
  • Greets clients and vendors; receives phone calls, incoming mail and other forms of communication and responds independently, when applicable.
  • Manages direct mailing efforts and the development and maintenance of relevant database lists.
  • Creates and maintains various department reports, prepares presentations, and collaborates with various staff and departments. 
  • Mentors and trains other less experienced Community Donation Coordinators.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
     

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 3+ years of project management, event planning or marketing experience
  • Ability to mentor and train other less experienced Donation Drive Coordinators
  • Excellent internet navigation required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Valid drivers' license and clean MVR
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
