What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The target salary range for this position is $80,217 – $100,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

What You’ll Do

The Child Welfare Services division of Denver Human Services is currently seeking a seeking a top-notch, visionary Bilingual Intake Social Caseworker Supervisor to directly manage Social Caseworkers in our Intake Section, which is primarily is responsible for investigating new allegations of abuse/neglect of children ages 0-18 in a fast-paced and demanding environment. This position requires full fluency in both English and Spanish to effectively support staff, engage with clients, and ensure high‑quality service delivery.

The Bilingual Social Caseworker Supervisor will coachlead and mentor staff as well as have responsibility for the development, planning, and assignment of cases. The successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary leadership, flexibility and experience empowering staff and managing a diverse workforce. The right person for this position will be someone who has a track record of being able to prioritize the best interests of the child while showing a thorough understanding and dedication to the highest standards of practice.  
 

Additionally, the Bilingual Social Caseworker Supervisor:

  • Will perform all competencies in both English and Spanish
  • Plans, assigns, and reviews the activities of social case workers performing case management functions and recommends changes in practices and procedures to increase operating efficiency and expedite workflow
  • Participates in the development of long range and short-term plans and goals for the assigned area, establishes and/or monitors current methods and policies, and keeps management level personnel abreast of trends and issues in the field and in the department
  • Screens assessments initially to determine level of risk to individuals/families and eligibility for services/programs, assigns assessments, meets with social case workers to discuss status of assessments, problems encountered, basis for actions, and alternative solutions, reviews and discusses progress of assessments and worker's reports, and provides technical guidance and direction in unusual and non-standard situation
  • Trains social case workers in social work techniques and methodologies, orients workers with appropriate laws, policies, regulations, and procedures, and ensures that work conforms to standards, regulations, and laws of state and federal agencies
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with public and private community-based services providers and professional and community groups in order to exchange information, resolve concerns/complaints, and develop and maximize available resources
  • Ensures that staff prepares comprehensive records, reports, and documentation that complies with state and federal standards and requirements. Prepares, supports, and coaches staff who test
