The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking an Electrical Power Design and Analysis Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Lead) in support of the Electrical Engineering Core Group. This position will be onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
The engineer will be responsible for performing analyses to ensure safe and appropriate electrical power loading for various systems on a multitude of air and space platforms recognized around the world. The engineer will also provide electrical system power expertise to design and modification efforts of products being developed throughout Boeing.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, to grow and mentor the next generation of engineers. In addition, this will guide the candidates’ career towards the submittal of a candidacy for a position in the Boeing Technical Fellowship.
Primary job responsibilities:
Coordinate, test, and verify Electrical Power requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the development and sustainment of various Boeing systems
Review supplier and partner qualification data to ensure compliance to Boeing and FAA electrical power requirements
Perform Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA) on a multitude of platforms in accordance with MIL-E-7016 and MIL-STD-704
Lead and coordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
Solve problems concerning and provide other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, by generating bids and requirements, and by providing work statement, budget, and schedule
Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs
Model the power generation, storage, and dissipation behavior of the Electrical Power Subsystem under various mission scenarios
Identify, track, and status technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
Conduct detailed trade studies and generate reports to communicate engineering recommendations
Lead development of high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications
Develop automated test equipment to support aircraft test requirements.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
2+ years’ related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience using power measurement test and measurement instrumentation (such as power supplies, power meters, and analyzers)
Familiar with Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA) concepts and MIL-E-7016
Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time, as required.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
(Level 3) 5+ years’ related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
(Level 4) 9+ years’ related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
Previous experience writing/verifying Electrical Power requirements
An ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a Master’s/PhD in electrical engineering
Active U.S. Security Clearance
Experience in the design, analysis, integration and verification of Electrical Power generation, distribution and/or regulation
