Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Dallas, TX fulfillment center and ensure the smooth operation of our facility. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on both the facility and a variety of machines and equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute maintenance tickets and perform preventive maintenance to high standards, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
2. Document all maintenance work in a maintenance tracking tool to accurately record and track spare parts consumption and maintain a comprehensive history of completed tasks.
3. Identify and resolve safety hazards within the fulfillment center, promptly addressing any potential risks to employees, equipment, or infrastructure.
4. Conduct internal repairs and rebuilds of components and equipment that can be reused, optimizing resources and minimizing downtime.
5. Supervise and oversee the work performed by vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.
6. Adhere to warehouse policies and procedures, ensuring that all maintenance work is conducted in accordance with safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines.
7. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance checks to identify potential issues and proactively address them before they become major problems.
8. Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and engineering, to understand maintenance needs and coordinate work schedules to minimize disruption to daily operations.
9. Assist in developing and implementing maintenance procedures, guidelines, and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
10. Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, and coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of necessary supplies for maintenance activities.

Requirements

1. Possess a minimum of 1 year of practical experience in a Maintenance role, demonstrating a solid understanding of maintenance practices and procedures.
2. High School diploma or equivalent qualification, with preference given to candidates who have completed technical college or vocational training in a relevant field.
3. Proven ability to be a self-starter and self-driven, displaying a proactive approach to executing assigned tasks and responsibilities.
4. Demonstrated determination and a can-do attitude, with a strong willingness to tackle challenges head-on and find solutions.
5. Strong eagerness to learn, develop new skills, and continuously improve performance and knowledge in the maintenance field.
6. Detail-oriented and committed to achieving high levels of accuracy and precision, striving for excellence in all aspects of work.
7. Basic computer skills and ability in utilizing computer-based systems for work order management, shift reporting, and data entry.
8. Proficient in reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting common information, reports, and technical documents related to maintenance activities.
9. Physical stamina and agility to perform maintenance duties safely and effectively, including the ability to walk, stand for extended periods, bend, squat, reach, and use sensory perception (sight and hearing).
10. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without restrictions, demonstrating the physical strength required to handle tools, equipment, and parts as necessary.
11. Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as scheduled, to accommodate the maintenance needs and operational demands of the facility.
