What We Are Looking For
Baylor University Law School is seeking an Assistant Registrar. The Assistant Registrar, working under the direction of the Registrar, supports the administration of academic services operations for the Law School, including academic records, registration, course scheduling, exams, grading, graduation processing, reporting, and related compliance and operational functions. The Assistant Registrar collaborates with students, faculty, staff, law school leadership, university partners, and external agencies to ensure accurate records management and effective academic operations through strong organization, attention to detail, collaboration, and communication.
A bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience are required. A master’s degree and seven years of relevant work experience are preferred. Additional education or experience may be considered in lieu of one another.
Additional required qualifications include:
- Experience in higher education administration, academic services, student services, or a related operational environment
- Ability to quickly learn and apply regulatory requirements in a higher education setting
- Ability to work well with a team of professionals
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills while managing multiple priorities in a detail-oriented environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Learn and effectively use systems such as Banner, CIM, OnBase, CLSS, Crystal Reports, and Microsoft Office applications
- Interpret and apply academic policies and procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work within established guidelines
- Maintain a collaborative, service-oriented approach to working with students, faculty, and university partners
- Handle sensitive information with professionalism and strict confidentiality

What You Will Do
- Lead registration processes, including student communications, system updates, troubleshooting, waitlist management, and enrollment monitoring
- Maintain records and specialized registration processes related to advocacy teams, independent studies, field placements, Law Review, and limited-enrollment courses
- Support maintenance of accurate, secure, and confidential student academic records in accordance with institutional policies and FERPA requirements
- Serve as a resource for students, faculty, and university partners regarding academic processes, including registration, records, and degree progress
- Lead reporting operations using university reporting systems, data analysis tools, and records management practices to support data-informed decision-making, trend analysis, and operational improvement across Academic Services functions
- Maintain data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across academic systems while developing and refining efficient reporting processes and workflows
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely bar-related records, reporting, and certification processes on behalf of students, alumni, and various state boards of law examiners
- Assist in the processing and secure maintenance of Character & Fitness documentation in collaboration with students, law school leadership, and Boards of Law Examiners
- Manage academic scheduling operations and related audits within university systems
