Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College is searching for a part-time Research Associate to join Professor Lee Branstetter’s research team. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in an exciting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by supporting community-engaged, participatory research to identify, design, and pilot best-fit opportunities for novel technology-enhanced educational interventions to help identify alignment among novel interventions, course- and curriculum-level learning outcomes, and industry needs.
The successful candidate will be familiar with learning science research, have an intimate knowledge of the social and educational landscape of Pittsburgh, and will bring community organizing or community-engaged research skills to the project. This ongoing research effort will deploy new AI-augmented learning technologies in community college cybersecurity/IT courses and provide access to a new cloud computing course that incorporates built-in intelligent tutors and coordinated opportunities for digital collaborative programming and reflection.
Core responsibilities will include:
Contributes to overall project planning and acts as lead to coordinate portions of a large project or study. Ensures project landmarks are met.
Collects, verifies, and manages data. Performs data analysis to produce reports. Documents and processes results. Develops quantitative models.
Writes and edits recommendations and reports.
Performs related duties as assigned.

You should demonstrate:
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication, problem-solving, and reasoning skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Education, Human-Computer Interaction, Learning Science, Psychology, or another relevant field is highly desirable.
At least 3 years of experience in community organizing, community-engaged leadership, partnership brokering, and qualitative and quantitative research methods.
