Position Summary
Currently seeking an Assistant Category Manager in Front Store Merchandising to fill a position on the General Merchandising team. The role is currently WFH Hybrid. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of experience in a CPG manufacturing company, retail organization, or in an analytical, merchandising, or buying position. This individual will aid in managing the total photo and digital memory businesses focusing on financials, future planning, products, equipment and the colleague and customer experience. They will also be involved in vendor management to include: collaborating, interviewing, and negotiating extensively with manufacturers and vendors to ensure product placement and product strategy that drives sales and profitability. This role will require leveraging all available data sources to continually analyze business opportunities. They will continually sustain a strong understanding of current competition as well as search out new competitive opportunities. The Assistant Category Manager will initiate and execute strategic promotional strategies and marketing plans by collaborating internally with a team of CVS professionals (e.g. Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design and Store Operations). This role may allow the opportunity to oversee other colleagues such as a Merchandising Analyst.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Category Manager:
• Contribute directly to sales and margin goals.
• Maintain awareness and full command of the P&L and category trends across sales, margin and service metrics to identify headwinds and drive opportunities for growth.
• Assist in building category strategies for merchandising programs from 1 to 5 years that reflect deep personal knowledge of our businesses, customers and clients.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers to collaborate on new items, new item training, and software testing.
• Drive tactical execution of day-to-day plan activities (i.e. store operations, equipment uptime, inventory, promotions and take corrective action if necessary).
• Collaborate with an internal team of CVS professionals in Pricing, Promotion, Marketing, Inventory, Visual Merchandising, and Finance
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current competition. Search out new competitive opportunities and make recommendations.
• Keep abreast of changes in the market. Research customer product preferences, supplier prices and the competitive environment.
• Manage multiple projects and complex systems integrations from a business lens
• Always looking for new white space opportunities.
• Become an expert in all internal tools and reporting databases

Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in a CPG manufacturing company, retail organization, or in an analytical, merchandising, or buying position
• 3+ years of experience developing and executing plans, review data, consumer insights and identify business opportunities to deliver expected financial and share results
• 3+ years of experience collaborating with cross functional team members, internally and with suppliers
• 3+ years of experience developing cohesive category strategies to deliver on both short-term and long term goals and adapts change based on consumer/market dynamics.
• Proficient in Microsoft
