Overview

The Director, Strategic Initiatives, Quality Applications is the primary point of contact between agency leadership and the project team, and is responsible for engaging senior leadership and communicating the progress of high-priority implementation efforts. The Director, Strategic Initiatives is accountable for working with and facilitating processes to accomplish complex implementation objectives, managing change, and resolving issues that span project teams and departments by planning, organizing, directing and supervising program activities in a cost effective and productive manner to achieve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement Quality software applications including QuickMAR & TaskMaster
  • Oversee all aspects of projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of projects
  • Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets
  • Build and maintain working relationships with team members, implementation consultants, and other departments involved in the project
  • Prepare and present reports for upper management regarding the status of project
  • Manage staff in the day-to-day implementation of new software applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Project Management certification (Project Management Professional, Certified Associate in Project Management), a plus
  • Five years of experience implementing large-scale software projects
  • Two to three years of supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare processes
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and analyze detailed information and present it in a variety of formats for business, executive, and technical audiences
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to influence the actions of others and be decisive when needed
  • High level of initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, anywhere in the United States
