THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is looking for a full-time Field Service Representative (FSR) to work closely with the entire Silvus team to provide our customers with tailored solutions to meet their needs. You will participate in technical demonstrations, support, and sales of the Silvus family of advanced multi- antenna MIMO radio and mesh networking solutions. You will also play a key role in influencing product development.
The Field Service Representative (FSR) reports to our Principal Sales Engineer in the Sales Engineering department. This position is on a hybrid schedule, a minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The location for this role is Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of West Los Angeles, CA.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support including system planning, customer training, system optimization, etc.
- Become an expert on the operation and application of Silvus' unique radio and networking solutions and its advantages over competing technologies.
- Prepare and conduct product demonstrations for customer visits and equipment evaluations.
- Visit customer sites to provide technical support and deliver training.
- Troubleshoot failures and abnormal situations in the field.
- Collect and analyze field failures and abnormalities and provide feedback to the development team.
- Help the Design Engineers reproduce and troubleshoot problems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience technically supporting communications, data networks, or radios in a DoD, Military, or Law Enforcement environment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an FSR or equivalent.
- Proficiency with TCP/IP protocol and networking.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- CLEARANCE – current active DoD Secret Clearance; OR the ability to obtain and maintain an active clearance within one year from start date.
- TRAVEL - up to 75% of the time and work on-site at the customer's location. NOTE - Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts. Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency with RF instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in or supporting DoD tactical communications with a focus on data networks and radios.
- Experience with operating and testing IP radios/modems.
- Knowledge of wireless communication systems, RF signal propagation, and digital communication technologies.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as C/C++.
- Familiarity with Linux.
- US Military background.
- Current active U.S. DoD SECRET clearance is desirable.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests and/or demonstrations in the field.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. of equipment for setup of demos and testing.
