About the role

Position Description
 

The role of the Stations Supervisor, HV Stations Cork, South West Region is responsible for managing the electrical construction, maintenance and faults activities, for the High and Medium Voltage system.  All this work to be done to time, quality, budget & procedure requirements. 


 

Key Responsibilities

 

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

 

  • Planning and prioritising for the delivery of work programmes.
  • Scheduling work and tracking and reporting on performance.
  • Managing productivity.
  • Managing costs.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for staff, contractors and the public.
  • Auditing quality of work.
  • Lead and develop a large skilled team of electricians.
  • Managing subcontractors including interfaces with internal teams.
  • Managing and and coordinate network outages with stakeholders such Eirgrid, Wind & Solar Farms and generators.

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of Electrical Network Assets such as Circuit Breaker and Instrument transformers.
  • Project Management.
  • Understands and applies the relevant Quality Management Standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of a safe system of work that is compliant with HSA regulations.
  • 3+ relevant years’ experience.
  • Either a 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.

 

 

Location

 

South West Region, Wilton, Co. Cork.

General

 

It is not anticipated that a staff member still on probation (either new entrant probation or a probation from a previous promotion) will be eligible to apply for a promotional vacancy.
 

Typically, an individual must have completed their probation and should have at least two years’ experience in their current role before being eligible to apply for a promotion.
 

An application from a staff member who does not meet the above criteria must have the approval of both the senior line manager and the HRM within the BU before progressing to application.

 

Note: For staff currently on non-monthly pay frequency, any promotion to Bands 5 and above will result in a change in pay frequency to monthly.  

 

 

Reporting to

 

Reporting to HV Stations Project Leader, South West Region.

Salary 

Starting from €55,500 per annum.
