GE Vernova is seeking a high-performing, strategically minded leader to serve as Chief of Staff to the Chief Safety Officer, supporting execution of the global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) strategy across our businesses and regions.

Operating at the center of enterprise EHSS priorities, this role connects strategy to execution through disciplined governance, operating rhythm, performance management, and cross-functional alignment. Partnering closely with corporate, regional, and business leaders, the Chief of Staff drives clarity, accountability, and measurable impact.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Chief Safety Officer, the EHSS Strategy and Operations Leader and in general with the EHSS Leadership Team to translate priorities into integrated execution plans and measurable outcomes.

  • Design and sustain EHSS governance forums, performance reviews, and executive cadence mechanisms.

  • Lead development of executive and Board materials, shaping insight and forward-looking risk visibility.

  • Oversee enterprise EHSS performance management, strengthening metrics and accountability.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives advancing Life Saving Rules operationalization, contractor risk management, serious injury prevention and wellbeing.

  • Integrate security and crisis leadership governance and structured learning across regions.

  • Advance Lean maturity across the function.

  • Connect regional EHSS leaders with enterprise strategy and emerging risks.

  • Support EHSS talent strategy and capability development.

Enterprise Impact

  • Sustain the global EHSS operating rhythm, reinforcing clarity, accountability, and execution discipline.

  • Support Executive and Board reporting on safety, security, and wellbeing performance.

  • Advance EHSS governance, lean metrics, and leading indicators.

  • Elevate Lean maturity through standard work, structured problem solving, and continuous improvement.

  • Strengthen alignment across EHSS, Operations, HR, Legal, Security, and Sourcing.

  • Drive initiatives that enhance employee safety, contractor performance, and organizational resilience.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in operations, EHS, engineering, manufacturing, Lean, supply chain, risk, consulting, digital transformation, or related fields within matrixed organizations.

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.

  • Strong analytical capability with ability to translate data into executive-ready insight.

  • Strong communication skills with exposure to senior leadership audiences.

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics, predictive risk tools, or operational digitization.

  • Digital fluency, including experience with analytics tools, dashboards, or data visualization.

  • Ownership mindset and comfort operating in high-visibility environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; engineering, business, environmental, health, technology, or related discipline preferred.

  • This role requires travel, including onsite attendance for meetings as needed.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting executive leadership or Board reporting processes.

  • Exposure to Lean and structured problem solving.

  • Experience in asset-intensive industries.

  • Exposure to crisis management or resilience planning.

  • Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, CSP, PMP, or equivalent.
