Job Description Summary:

Landscape Crew Member 1 (ATHLETIC FIELD)
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of Athletic Field maintenance on City property and complete tasks as assigned by the Sports Turf Manager and field staff. Performs other duties as required. Position is seasonal and for the duration of the summer.

LANDSCAPE CREW MEMBER (ATHLETIC FIELD)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of Athletic Fields and parks. May include: 

• Field Maintenance

• Athletic Field layout and painting

• Preparing areas for rentals/events 

• Turf maintenance

• Hardscape cleaning and maintenance 

• Vandalism repair/removal 

• Horticulture maintenance 

• Waste and litter removal 

• Minor repair of buildings and structures. 

• Snow removal as needed 

• Irrigation repair and maintenance 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age or older. 

• Ability to perform a wide range of physical and manual tasks in and outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions. 

• Ability to work hours that are flexible and include weekends and evenings. 

• Ability to evaluate conditions in assigned area and make judgments related to safety. 

• Ability to provide excellent customer service. 

• Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain acceptable motor vehicle record.

• Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution skills.

• Ability to keep accurate records, organize information, supplies and equipment, and follow established procedures. 

• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools. 

• Ability to operate riding mowers, tractors, truck and trailers, and other landscape equipment. 

• Ability to provide information and instruction to individuals and groups. 

• Ability to work alone under general supervision 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

• (zero to one) 0-1 year of related experience.
