Global Financial Planning & Analysis Director (2024)

 

The Director of FP&A is a key position in the company that reports directly to the CFO and has significant exposure to the senior leadership team.  We are looking for an innovative, self-starting individual who is interested in the fast-paced environment of a tier one automotive supplier.  This position requires an individual who can work closely with global leadership and cross-functional staffs to ensure that profit objectives are exceeded.  The ideal candidate will have prior finance experience in a manufacturing environment, prior supervisory experience, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable information.  A strong background in financial analysis and reporting is required. 

 

This position is located in Auburn Hills, Michigan. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the development of the budget, long-range financial plan and financial forecasts
• Develop presentations for Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors
• Partner with global leadership and cross functional teams to provide detailed analysis of key performance metrics, financial trends and other aspects of the business that impact profitability
• Manage the development of customer and program profitability reporting
• Develop, track and drive adherence to the global capital budget
• Manage the development of narratives and analytics for interim and annual reporting in support of financial reporting and investor relations activities
• Continuously improve the FP&A process ensuring that accuracy and timeliness of reporting
• Standardize/process flow work to ensure overall structure is optimized and areas of risk are mitigated
• Support employee career development and retention through ongoing employee training, feedback, support, and recognition
• Support global data requests for cross functional teams

 

Job Requirements:

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in finance with increasing levels of responsibility
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a matrix organization
• Strong financial acumen, with understanding of income statement / balance sheet and cash flow interrelationships and relate financial results to business activities
• Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS principles
• Experience with financial management and planning systems (Hyperion & QAD strongly preferred)

Education:

Required:  BA – Finance or Accounting

Preferred:  MBA or CPA
