Overview

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer SME to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) in support of the development and sustainment of the Space Digital Ecosystem and iNtegration (SpaceDEN). Place of work is in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities

As a Cybersecurity Engineer SME with MTSI, you will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) in support of the development and sustainment of the Space Digital Ecosystem and iNtegration (SpaceDEN). The candidate will work in multi-level classified environments to include, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. A successful candidate should be a self-starter who possesses initiative, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and a proven problem solver.

 

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Coordinating with Program Managers (PMs) and Government leadership to determine prioritization of development and sustainment efforts as they relate to the Risk management Framework (RMF) and Joint Security Implementation Guide (JSIG)/SAP Overlay Implementation Guide (SOIG) controls.
  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructures are protected by designing in the appropriate security controls requirements and making sure they are implemented and operating as required.
  • Testing and identifying network, system, and cloud environment vulnerabilities.
  • Ensuring the SpaceDEN system is designed for security requirements for Information Systems (IS), Platform Information Technology (PIT), and Information Technology (IT) Services in accordance with the JSIG.
  • Guiding and verifying defense contractors’ work against program requirements and goals, including participation in technical discussions, trade studies and working groups, and conducting research on industry best practices for potential implementation.
  • Provide guidance on developing, maintaining, and tracing cybersecurity requirements.
  • Enforcing the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures within and outside the authorization boundaries.
  • Assessing proposed changes to customer IS’s, their operational environment, and mission needs for impacts to cybersecurity and continued compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
