Job Description:

  • This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly.

  • This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

  • Lead / guide team members in monitoring & required adjustments of production equipment to meet or exceed the Tyson standards.

  • Respond to production calls for maintenance, accessing needs, responses to resolve issues to minimize down time. 

  • Assist Supervision in monitoring your assigned technician’s workmanship, performance, quality of repair methods, while coaching, guiding & training in best practices.

  • Guide & lead your team initiating inspections.

  • Record all your teams’ significant maintenance activity in the maintenance daily log communicating follow up requirements with supervisor. 

  • Work with supervision in creating an atmosphere of teamwork, cooperation and balancing of workload among team members.

  • Set / maintain high standards of performance for yourself & team in productivity, quality workmanship, initiative & integrity.

  • Lead safety meetings and assure team works safely within all Tyson policies for safety, hygiene, OSHA, EPA & ethics.

Requirements:

  • Must have 1 year maintenance experience within the immediate past 2 years. Must list in the application.

  • Must have a working knowledge of electricity, power, transmissions, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, cutting, and the use of shop tools.

  • Applicants must be able to work with others to adhere to Tyson's safety culture. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for a visit to the facility.

  • Prior Employee Waiting Period: If you were previously employed at Tyson, there’s a 180-day waiting period before you can reapply.

  • Applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times are not eligible for rehire.

  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
