About the role
ARServices is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our team supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Research & Development Directorate (DTRA RD). In this position, you will lead our Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) team and support the RD Nuclear Technologies (NT) Department.
Principal Duties
- Supervise the RD-NT PMO A&AS staff who support the five (5) divisions and front office of the Department
- Manage administrative support, schedule and hold weekly meetings and plan work
- Assist with all aspects of the RD-NT leadership team (Director, Deputy Director) tasks and key leader engagements such as scheduling, hosting and preparation for Senior Steering Groups , Key Leader Engagement, conferences, working groups and meetings
- Provide advice and assistance to NT leadership for key discussions and senior leader engagements
- Prepare and staff senior leader correspondence given verbal guidance, meeting results and general direction
- Prepare initial correspondence, coordinating drafts and edit position papers and white papers, awards, memos, acquisition documents and information messages intended for leadership
- Assist in the preparation of the RD-NT five-year Program Objective Memorandum (POM) build, to include the Department briefing to RD leadership and the accompanying workbooks
- Track, coordinate and respond to internal and external taskers, both on the unclassified and classified networks, some with tight deadlines
- Maintain and update an Integrated Master Schedule
- Support development, version control, and quality control of briefings and other engagements with the RD-NT Department and other organizations as directed
- Assist with workforce resourcing and personnel issues such as training
- Prepare leadership for weekly and other periodic RD NT meetings
- Fully and effectively collaborate with an existing cross functional front office team. Assist or lead other front office activities as directed with priority placed on team work
- Coordinate with the subject-matter expertise (SME) A&AS department lead on a regular basis to best align and deliver A&AS support
- Perform other tasks as required
Requirements
- TS/SCI Clearance
- MS degree or demonstrated similar competence
- At least ten (10) years’ experience working at higher headquarters levels within the Department of Defense
- Executive level oral and written communication skills. Able to effectively communicate with senior leadership.
- Skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) with associated calendar functionality, SharePoint
- Experience developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs), and Project Schedules utilizing MS Project or similar software
- General understanding of information technology terminology
- Comprehensive understanding of nuclear and radiological technologies
Desired Qualifications
- DoD program management, PPBE, and DoD/federal acquisition
- Certified Project Management Professional
- Completion of applicable Defense Acquisition University PM Level II courses
- Experience working at and/or with the DTRA with nuclear weapon experience
- Knowledge of Special Operations, Intelligence Community and other government agencies and a general understanding of WMD/CBRN threats and the means to combat them
