Pharmacy Liaison / Pharmacy Technician (Specialty Pharmacy)
Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician / Pharmacy Liaison to join a fast-growing leader in specialty pharmacy management services. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and capable of building strong relationships with patients, clinicians, and internal teams. You will play a key role in supporting medication adherence and improving patient outcomes through a hands-on, patient-centered approach.
This is a clinic-based role, requiring seamless collaboration with physicians, nurses, and care teams to deliver integrated pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Engagement
- Deliver world-class (“legendary”) patient care through comprehensive medication management services
- Support patients throughout the full continuum of care, including medication adherence and therapy management
- Conduct outbound adherence calls, refill coordination, and follow-ups
- Educate patients on pharmacy services and benefits to improve engagement and outcomes
- Provide support both in-person and over the phone
Clinic & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and clinic staff as part of an integrated care team
- Act as a liaison between the clinic and the centralized Patient Service Center
- Communicate key reports (refill, zero-fill, outstanding, appointment lists)
Operations & Workflow Management
- Support specialty and retail prescription workflows
- Identify medications requiring special handling (e.g., refrigerated, hazardous drugs)
- Ensure availability of necessary supplies (e.g., syringes, sharps containers, etc.)
- Maintain accurate documentation across systems and databases
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient care delivery
Insurance & Financial Support
- Resolve insurance issues, including prior authorizations (PAs)
- Assist patients in accessing financial assistance programs
Continuous Improvement
- Identify trends and recommend operational improvements
- Participate in quality and performance initiatives
- Stay current with industry knowledge and best practices
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent organizational and administrative abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ability to learn new systems quickly

Preferred Experience (Specialty Pharmacy)
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Transplant
- Hepatitis C
- Infectious diseases (including HIV)
- Oncology
Education & Experience
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience
Preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in pharmacy or specialty pharmacy settings
Licensure & Certification
- Active State Pharmacy Technician Registration (required)
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) preferred but not required
- Willingness to obtain additional licensure within an agreed timeframe if necessary
