Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Sr. Principal Systems Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.

The selected candidate will support Development and Sustainment programs and will identify cybersecurity risks and design, develop, integrate, test, and verify system security solutions. The candidate will be responsible for identifying cybersecurity risks, working with stakeholders to develop a technical and programmatic plan for remediation, and driving the incorporation of cybersecurity improvements into the weapon system. This role requires in depth knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and hands on experience using security compliance tools (e.g., ACAS, SCAP, STIG, SCC), and the ability to develop artifacts (RAR, SSP, POA&M, SAR, SCTM, ConMon) to achieve and maintain and ATO.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Author, and maintain cybersecurity program documentation & RMF package artifacts: Cybersecurity Strategies, System Security Plans, Continuous Monitoring Plans, Risk Assessment Report, Security Control Traceability Matrix, Plan Of Actions & Milestones, etc

  • Support the architecture and design of baked in cybersecurity requirements and protections

  • Implement and review traceability of requirements to the design & its models

  • Experience implementing cybersecurity artifacts in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) Architecture

  • Provide cybersecurity system engineering implementation guidance and oversight to technical teams

  • Implement, review and assess cybersecurity system requirements verification/validation methods

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 6 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

  • An active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).

  • Experience in the Defense Aerospace Industry, prior experience working in restricted facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current/active Top-Secret clearance

  • Active IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+) certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Understanding of the requirements analysis, decomposition, and allocation process
