Summary:
Provides investigational pharmaceutical care services by evaluating, implementing, and maintaining research drug protocols. Facilitates and manages investigational drug procurement, storage, distribution, destruction, inventory, and record keeping of pharmaceutical research.Responsibilities:
Works independently as the pharmacy leader during sponsor site visits, external and internal auditsFacilitates rapport between the Department of Pharmacy, principal investigators, clinical research assistants, trial sponsors, and office of human research personnelProvides drug information and investigational protocol education to pharmacy staff, students, and other health care professionals. Oversees preparation and proper storage of the investigational medications.Attends and contributes to interdisciplinary team meetings relating to clinical investigational drug trials and may serves as member of the investigational review board (IRB)Performs cross functional duties including those of a pharmacist, clinical specialist, or other clinical coordinatorLeads pharmacists' protocol review and investigational medication management, including build in electronic health record and dose-dispensation softwareCompetencies:

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action Required Work Experience: Four (4) years of experience as a clinical pharmacist or two (2) years as a clinical specialist.
