The Core Data Production Engineering team at Meta is responsible for the reliability, quality and operability of Meta's Online Data Stack. Partnered with SWE, these teams not only maintain, but improve and innovate in this foundational stack that the social graph and family of apps are built on.
Production Engineering is a hybrid software/systems group that ensures Meta's services and products run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth. Production Engineers work with Meta's product and infrastructure teams, sometimes embedded in those teams, collaborating in building and scaling technology solutions.

- Support and lead engineers and managers working on Core Data's Staging, Capacity Optimization and Quota Management Production engineering teams. These are highly cross-functional teams that work broadly across the organization.
- Understand and contribute to technical design, tooling needs, automation plans and create comprehensive plans for prioritizing technical and resource challenges
- Drive technical architecture discussions, even on subjects you haven't had direct experience working with
- Develop lasting partnerships with technical program management, software engineering and other related groups to support our ever-growing large-scale distributed infrastructure.
- Empower engineers and managers to develop their careers, matching their strengths with projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles
- Help build and enrich an welcoming and collaborative work environment
- Assess employee performance on an ongoing basis, address under-performance, and recognize and promote performance
- Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team including interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and on-boarding new employees
- Balance the need to “keep things running” with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects
- Participate in team incident management and Core Data Incident Management
- 6+ years of direct management experience in a technology role
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience with systems, networking, and troubleshooting
- Experience drafting and reviewing code
- Experience with building teams and/or organizations, including hiring and managing performance
- Communication and cross-collaboration experience
- Experience with incident management and service ownership
