Job Overview
The Principal, HR Business Partner ensures alignment between business operations and HR strategy, practices, and objectives. This role develops and executes creative solutions by leveraging experience, data analysis, and organizational resources to support business goals.
The Principal, HR Business Partner provides consulting and coaching to departmental leaders and managers, fostering alignment with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
What You Will Do
- Identify talent needs, risks, and gaps; develop and oversee the execution of plans using talent management tools and resources
- Facilitate, execute, and lead Talent Reviews and Succession Planning roundtables, ensuring a comprehensive process across the business unit or function
- Support the implementation of business unit-specific development strategies, driving or coordinating existing programs and developing new solutions to address skill gaps and strengthen leadership pipelines
- Translate business strategy into short- and mid-term HR initiatives that align with business objectives
- Develop, implement, and execute HR programs and initiatives, ensuring successful completion in support of business unit goals
- Track progress against key metrics and milestones, providing insights and recommendations to leadership as needed
- Change Management, Culture & Engagement
- Lead or contribute to change management initiatives, driving adoption and alignment with business strategies
- Consult with internal and external partners to assess, design, and implement change management strategies, ensuring the right resources are in place for successful execution
- Develop and implement programs that address the cultural and operational impact of process improvements
- Monitor change initiatives against key milestones, coaching business unit leadership to ensure smooth transitions and sustained engagement
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

Skills You Will Need
Business Insight: Deep understanding of the organization's structure, strategy, culture, and operating principles, applying this knowledge to drive business outcomes
Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business challenges and opportunities into actionable HR strategies and initiatives
HR Functional Proficiency: Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and programs, including talent acquisition, performance management, workforce planning, and succession planning
Talent Development: Expertise in identifying, developing, and retaining high-potential talent, ensuring business continuity and leadership pipeline strength
Culture & Engagement: Develops programs to drive employee engagement, inclusion, and adaptability in a dynamic business environment
Solution Orientation: Proficiency in root cause analysis, leveraging data and insights to diagnose business challenges and develop effective solutions
Analytical & Critical Thinking: Uses data-driven decision-making to shape HR initiatives and measure the impact of programs
Consulting & Coaching: Provides strategic advisory support to business leaders, driving alignment with organizational goals
Change & Communications: Effectively conveys complex ideas, influencing stakeholders and ensuring clarity in messaging during transformations
Collaboration & Relationship-Building: Establishes strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, working across functional lines to drive results
Project & Program Management: Ability to design, develop, and execute HR programs and initiatives, ensuring successful implementation
MS Office & HR Systems Proficiency: Strong command of technology, including HRIS and data analysis tools, to support business objectives
