What You Will Do:
 

The Junior Appian Developers at Guidehouse design, develop, test, and deploy Appian applications for our clients. Our junior developers work with a team of experienced developers to create innovative solutions that meet the needs of our clients.   

• Design and develop Appian applications according to client requirements
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test Appian applications 
• Participate in design and code reviews 
• Collaborate with business analysts to understand client needs and requirements 
• Ensure Appian applications are scalable, reliable, and performant 
• Troubleshoot and debug Appian applications 
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Appian features and capabilities 
• Participate in Appian certification programs and maintain Appian certification 
• Create technical documentation and user guides 

What You Will Need:
 

• Must be Authorized to work in the US 
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business 
• Ability to achieve Appian certifications upon hire 
• Proficient in Appian development best practices Minimum 1 years of professional and Appian development experience 
• Understanding of Appian platform, including Appian SAIL, Process Modeler, and Rules 
• Experience working in Agile development methodologies 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation 
• Understanding of Appian integrations with 3rd party applications 
• Client-facing written and oral communications skills, relationship focus, and strong technical and business acumen 
• Compensation may vary based on education, skills, experience and location.   
• This is an exempt level role that may require more than 40 hours of work per week. 
• Selected Candidate must be able to work Eastern Standard Hours. 
• May need to come into the office three (3) times per week

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Active Appian Associate Developer certifications 
• Experience with Java, SQL, and web services 
• Work experience on a software development project in a federal government setting or with Federal Acquisition Management 
• An ‘early adopter’ mindset for new Appian platform features 
• Prefer candidates that are local to McLean, VA

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$108,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
