Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering is seeking a proactive, goal oriented, and detail-focused project engineer to work on a new Military Development program supporting the future of the PW Military engine business for decades to come. In this role you'll support the IPTL for program task execution on the LPT Module hardware and progressing your Project leadership skills to become a future IPTL at Pratt & Whitney.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate with IPTL and help lead one or more cross functional teams to meet task and technical requirements
- Identify and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects
- Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives
- Prepare/present status and technical content to HSE Leadership, CIPT, and Pratt & Whitney Upper Management
- Initiate and manage hardware procurement/industrial effort as the engineering technical contact
- Coordinate evaluation and disposition of quality non-conformances and supplier requests for information
- The ability to travel 10% of the time
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field.
- 5 years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years with an advanced degree
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
- Ability to work onsite in East Hartford office 5 days per week
Qualifications We Prefer
- BS or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
- Experience working in the Aerospace Industry, specifically gas turbine engines, is highly desirable
- Experience with component manufacturing and associated quality requirements
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and management.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations to all levels
- Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project / scheduling software, and project management

Hot Section Engineering (HSE)-Department Overview
Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.
Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.
