Spring 2026
Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for a non-tenure-track, part-time position as Visiting Lecturer to teach in the Department of Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies during Spring 2026. The Department seeks applications from candidates with demonstrated expertise and experience in teaching courses through an antiracist, intersectional, and/or transnational feminist, queer, and trans lens. The successful candidate will teach the Introduction to FGSS, FGSS 26 or Introduction to Queer Studies, FGSS36, and a more specialized elective course (see for example the series of FGSS 188 courses currently listed on the department website). We are looking for an individual with a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education to teach these courses. This is a non-renewable position.
Applicants should submit the following materials online: a cover letter, a CV, and one sample syllabus. Relevant course evaluations are also welcome and may be solicited. For matters other than the submission of materials, contact Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies Search Committee Chair, Professor Nancy Neiman at nnemiman@scrippscollege.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Consideration cannot be guaranteed for applications received after November 1, 2025.
The salary for this position will range from $16,920 to $18,800 and will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
