The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) team capitalizes on Amazon’s scale, speed, and ability to invent and simplify to create a better and more resilient company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and we drive solutions that enable our customers and our business to become more sustainable.

The ESG Reporting team is looking for a detail focused, results-oriented, and collaborative individual to support Amazon’s global ESG disclosure processes.

You will work cross functionally to design, build, and maintain metric consolidation processes that enable the accurate and timely disclosures of ESG metrics.

The processes will be designed in accordance with financial reporting best practices, and will be critical to enabling Amazon to monitor its ESG performance.

In addition, you will work with L&D teams to develop and launch programs to educate subject matter experts to enhance their own data governance processes.


Key job responsibilities
• Design and operationalize the consolidation
process that supports Amazon’s global statutory and voluntary ESG metrics and disclosures. This will enable compliance with proposed SEC, CSRD/ESRS, ISSB and local ESG reporting regulations.

• Support ESG materiality assessments

• Design, build, and maintain a data substantiation process to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and verifiability of Amazon’s ESG disclosures and metrics.

• Provide requirements to sustainability technology team to help automate mandatory ESG reporting processes.

• Support country-level and business-level engagement on ESG metric quality in partnership with local leadership, Finance and Accounting teams.

Basic Qualifications


• 10+ years of experience working in ESG reporting, accounting, or internal audit.

• Experience building or enhancing ESG reporting infrastructure with complex inputs from multiple stakeholders.

• Experience auditing and improving the quality of ESG metrics and disclosures.

• Experience assessing underlying assumptions for complex ESG calculations.

• Experience assessing or designing IT general control environments required to maintain databases that support timely and accurate reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

• Experience with external reporting solutions such as Workiva.
