Overview

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing operational support to the Director of Finance in all accounting and financial reporting functions. This includes completing journal entries, processing payables and receivables and completing month-end reconciliations. May include other administrative duties as assigned.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $14 to $16.00.

Xtream Arena powered by Mediacom & GreenState Family Fieldhouse serves as a highly accessible and most importantly right-sized venue for concerts, family shows, and special events. Xtream Arena & GreenState Family Fieldhouse fulfills a longstanding community and economic development void in Coralville and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Accounts payable data entry, reconciliation, and check printing
• Accounts receivable data entry, invoice preparation, and cash receipts processing
• Assist with completing month-end account reconciliations and journal entries
• Responsible for balancing box office revenue; recording daily box office sales and weekly receipts
• Assist with various event-related duties

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Basic working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements via coursework or work experience
• Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
• Consistent and reliable attention to detail, accuracy and validity
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of team and with all levels of management
• Strong customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills required
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict levels of confidentiality, discretion and ethics
• Effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, employees, superiors and business contacts in a professional, timely and courteous manner
