PURPOSE: The Product Design Intern uses their design background and expertise to improve Andersen’s existing window and door products or innovate on future products to address customer needs and wants. The majority of this role will include interaction with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to understand product gaps and potential solutions. The Product Design Intern will use customer insight, design knowledge, human factors, and style to introduce new ideas for Andersen’s product lineup. This role requires knowledge of CAD software, sketching, rendering, and product development. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Lead design brainstorms and iteration for product enhancements· Create new designs based on inputs· Lead discussions with engineering, marketing, and sales to gather feedback and iterate· Evolve the designs for function and manufacturability· Facilitate cross-functional meetings with explicit objectives and scope QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:· Enrollment in a 4-year program toward completion of Product Design or Industrial Design degree, GPA 3.0 or higher· Working knowledge of relevant product design tools such as CAD, Photoshop, rendering software, customer journey mapping, and story boards· Knowledge and experience hands on prototyping and user research· Excel

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $24 - $26.
