Senior Optical Transceiver Engineer

<p>The Optical Transceiver Engineer will be part of the Pluggables Transceiver Management team for Nokia NI Optical Networks, R&amp;D Subsystem Division, whose mission is to run New Product Introduction and Maintenance of Pluggable Transceivers for Datacom and Telecom applications at high data rate (400G, 800G, 1.6T). The engineer has the main task to run component level validation as well as to advise management about new/emerging technologies and form factors to be introduced for Nokia systems next gen.</p> <p>As part of Pluggable Transceiver Management team the Optical Transceiver Engineer will:</p> <ul> <li>Run technology scouting on new and emerging optics technologies</li> <li>Assess enabling technologies for next generation transceiver introduction into Nokia portfolio</li> <li>Define requirements for applications custom to Nokia discussing them with PLM/suppliers</li> <li>Design procurement specs</li> <li>Review feedbacks from RFQ and run vendor ranking in sync with Procurement</li> <li>Coordinate from remote validation activity by designing test list, planning and reviewing results</li> <li>Execute validation activity</li> <li>Project management, including status update reporting</li> </ul> <p>The Optical Transceiver Engineer is expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Have deep knowledge of pluggable transceivers for Datacom and Telecom application (access and transport application space), mainly focused on 400G, 800G and 1.6T</li> <li>Have deep knowledge of form factors and relative MSA specifications</li> <li>Have deep knowledge of enabling optics and microelectronics technologies, optical propagation</li> <li>Have deep knowledge of consolidated MSA and ITU-T, IEEE, OIF standards for optical interfaces</li> <li>Be experienced in test automation of validation test setup, based on Lab View infrastructure</li> <li>Be experienced in managing negotiation and technical discussions/assessment with suppliers</li> <li>Have good communication skills (Italian and English)</li> <li>Be motivated to teamwork in a virtual (international) team environment</li> <li>Be flexible in travelling abroad</li> <li>Be willing to accept challenges and work under high pressure</li> <li>Have Project and program management skills</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b><span>Come create the technology that helps the world act together<br/> </span></b><span><br/> Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks.
