Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Location: Gwinnett, GeorgiaReports To: Lead ClinicianFLSA Status: Non-exemptSalary: $30.00–$34.00 per hour
Position Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as a Health Center Associate (HCA) and provides clinical and administrative support for Family Planning, Abortion Services, and Centralized Follow-Up (CFU). This role plays a critical part in ensuring excellent patient care, clinical safety, and timely follow-up for patients with abnormal results or ongoing care needs.A key responsibility of this position is providing post-procedure recovery monitoring for patients following suction abortion procedures. Experience in recovery, PACU, or post-procedural care is highly preferred.
This is a full-time position working Tuesday through Saturday.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Support – Family Planning & Abortion Services● Function as a Health Center Associate (HCA) on clinic days.● Collect patient histories, take vitals, and prepare patients for exams or procedures.● Assist providers during Family Planning and suction abortion procedures.● Provide direct patient monitoring in the recovery area, including: ○ Vital sign monitoring ○ Recovery assessment ○ Escalation of complications ○ Providing after-care instructions● Maintain rigorous adherence to infection control, CLIA, OSHA, and PPSE safety standards.● Document clinical services in the electronic health record (EHR) with accuracy and timeliness.
Centralized Follow-Up (CFU)● Conduct follow-up calls for patients with positive test results, abnormal labs, and beta hCG follow-up.● Participate in after-hours call rotation to support patient continuity of care.● Document follow-up outcomes and escalate clinical concerns appropriately.● Ensure all communication is patient-centered and aligned with PPSE protocols.
Health Center Operations● Participate in daily huddles, debriefs, staff trainings, and quality improvement activities.● Assist with chart audits, lab processing, and inventory maintenance.● Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold PPSE’s standards for privacy and respectful care.
Preferred Qualifications:● Prior experience in recovery/PACU or procedural care.● Experience in abortion care or reproductive health.● Bilingual (English/Spanish).● Experience with NextGen or similar EHR systems.● Previous experience in follow-up, phone triage, or telehealth
